Kitchen Assistant

Location: Uxbridge, SEN School Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm Contract:Temporary Salary/Rate: £16-£19 per hour dependent on experience Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Kitchen Assistant to join our busy catering team within a welcoming all-through SEN school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a fast learner, enjoys working in a hands-on environment, and is keen to develop their skills in school catering.Working as part of a small team of just two people, you will play a vital role in ensuring pupils receive nutritious, high-quality meals each day. This is a fast-paced role that requires energy, organisation, and the ability to remain calm under pressure during busy lunch periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation and basic cooking duties.
• Serving meals to pupils in a friendly and professional manner.
• Delivering lunches to classrooms across the school.
• Following the school's agreed menus and meal plans.
• Ensuring all food preparation and service complies with health and safety regulations.
• Adhering to food hygiene standards and allergy awareness procedures at all times.
• Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school kitchen.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

Requirements

• An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position, or the willingness to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
