My client is an instantly recognisable consultancy who require an experienced Interaction Designer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering digital services within UK Government. You will design accessible, intuitive and user-centred services, turning complex processes and requirements into simple user journeys and interactions.
Requirements
Key Requirements
- Proven experience working as an Interaction Designer on complex digital services
- Strong experience delivering UK public-sector services using GDS standards
- Experience using the GOV.UK Design System, components and interaction patterns
- Strong hands-on experience creating and iterating prototypes using Figma
- Experience applying user-centred design based on evidenced user needs
- Strong experience working with user research and using findings to improve designs
- Understanding of WCAG 2.2 AA, accessibility and inclusive design
- Experience designing coherent end-to-end user journeys across different devices and channels
- Proven experience working within agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Comfortable collaborating closely with developers and wider technical teams
- Strong stakeholder communication skills with the ability to explain and challenge design decisions
Nice to have
- Experience as an Interaction Designer or comparable user-centred design role
- Practical experience with the GOV.UK Prototype Kit
- Experience prototyping using HTML/CSS
- Previous experience working with Government departments or complex public-sector organisations
- Experience supporting services through GDS or equivalent service assessments
