A well-established organisation based in Exeter is seeking a Finance & Resources Officer to join its finance team on an initial 3-month temporary contract, with the potential for extension. This is a varied role offering exposure across purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking, reporting and wider finance administration.

Your new role

As Finance & Resources Officer, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Rent Ledger functions. Duties will include processing and authorising supplier invoices, managing payment runs, reconciling supplier statements, maintaining direct debit records, processing sales invoices and completing month-end reconciliations.

You will also be responsible for cash and banking procedures, petty cash management, posting journals to the nominal ledger, producing financial reports and supporting the wider finance and resources function.

The role requires regular liaison with suppliers, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring finance processes operate efficiently.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have previous experience working within a finance function, ideally with strong Purchase Ledger experience.

You will be confident processing invoices, managing supplier queries, carrying out reconciliations and supporting transactional finance processes.

Experience with Sales Ledger, cashbook duties, direct debits, journals and month-end activities would be advantageous. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and proficiency with Excel are essential.
