Your new role We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist with experience of sliding head lathes who is comfortable setting, operating and ideally programming CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components.
Your tasks
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Setting and operating CNC sliding head lathes
- Programming and editing CNC machines where required
- Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
- Selecting and setting appropriate tooling
- Carrying out tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments
- Using measuring equipment including micrometres, verniers and gauges

Requirements
Skills & Experience required
- Previous experience working as a CNC Sliding Head Machinist, Setter, Operator or Programmer
- Experience with sliding head CNC machinery such as Citizen, Star, Tornos or similar
- Strong CNC turning knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience setting tooling and making machine adjustments
- Good understanding of tolerances and inspection procedures
