Banking Clerk (Part-Time Temporary)

Location: Hybrid Working (1 day per week in the office, Monday or Tuesday) Hours: Part-Time, 20 hours per week (10:00am-2:00pm or 11:00am-3:00pm) Duration: Temporary contract until year-end Salary: Competitive hourly rate

Your New Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Banking Clerk to join a busy finance team on a temporary basis. This role has been created to provide support during a period of change and system implementation, ensuring the smooth allocation and processing of incoming cash receipts.This position would suit someone with previous Accounts Receivable, Sales Ledger, Accounts Payable or Banking experience who enjoys working with accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Allocating daily cash receipts to customer accounts and outstanding invoices.
• Reviewing daily banking reports and matching incoming funds against sales ledger transactions.
• Investigating and resolving unallocated cash items.
• Processing and recording cheque payments.
• Preparing and maintaining banking records and documentation.
• Downloading and saving finance reports on a weekly basis.
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc finance administration tasks.
• Assisting with maintaining accurate financial records during a busy period.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience in a Banking Clerk, Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable role.
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Experience allocating cash and reconciling transactions.
• Good Excel and systems skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a steady workload.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
