Java Developer (Fintech)

Requirements

Java Developer (Mid/Senior) – Trading Systems

You will:

Develop backend systems for a client's trading desk, with growing focus on UI components alongside backend work

Build event-driven services using Kafka (basic production/consumption; no Kafka Streams required)

Work with a Kubernetes-based infrastructure using Argo CD (GitOps) and GitLab CI/CD for the SDLC

Contribute to monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana and the Elastic Stack

Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, and openness to tools like Devin or Claude)

Collaborate closely with distributed teams based in London, India and the US

You bring:

Computer Science/Engineering degree or equivalent background

Minimum 3 years of commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with SDLC tools such as GitLab

Basic experience with Kafka (producing/consuming messages)

Strong communication and teamwork skills, comfortable in an international, distributed environment

Experience in the financial services sector is a strong plus

Must have: Java
