Commercial Finance Manager (Interim to Permanent)

Harper May is partnering with a profitable, growing, PE-backed B2B technology business with an international customer base. A Commercial Finance Manager is being appointed on an initial six-month interim contract, with a clear route to a permanent seat for the right person. The role is based from the group's Stamford office three days a week.
Your tasks
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Commercial Finance Manager will own the commercial and FP&A side of the finance function. The monthly close is prepared by a Management Accountant, so this role is pitched above the detail - reviewing and challenging the numbers, presenting them clearly to the leadership team, and turning the data into insight the business can actually act on.
- Review and present the monthly management accounts to the leadership team
- Lead FP&A: annual budget, rolling forecast, variance analysis and scenario modelling
- Partner with the commercial team on pricing, customer profitability and new revenue streams
- Build and maintain the group's commercial dashboards and KPI reporting
- Support board reporting and investor-facing finance packs alongside the Head of Finance
- Deliver ad-hoc commercial analysis to support decision-making across the business
- Help strengthen financial controls and reporting process as the group scales
Requirements
What we are looking for
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Strong commercial finance / FP&A background with the ability to review rather than prepare month-end
- Confident presenting financial information clearly to non-finance leaders
- Hands-on with modelling, variance analysis and scenario work
- Experience in a PE-backed, scale-up or international group environment is a plus; industry background is not critical
- Available on an interim basis with openness to converting to permanent
- Able to be in the Stamford office three days a week
