The Role

  • Drive innovation across analytics, identifying opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and modern analytics tooling.
  • Help define and implement strategies for semantic layers, self-service analytics, and metric governance.
  • Improve technical standards, ensuring analytics solutions are scalable, reliable, and consistent.
  • Partner with Data, Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to shape analytics strategy.
  • Lead strategically important analytics initiatives that drive measurable business value.
  • Own and develop key analytics products, reporting frameworks, and enterprise metrics.
  • Influence data platform, tooling, and architectural decisions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and translate promising ideas into practical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and coaching across the wider analytics community.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on analytics best practice, governance, and capability development.

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, data strategy, or a related field.
  • Advanced SQL and data modelling skills, with strong knowledge of modern analytics tools and platforms.
  • Experience developing semantic layers, metric frameworks, and self-service reporting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of tools such as dbt, MetricFlow, LookML, or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong understanding of analytics architecture, data governance, and modern BI principles.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change without direct authority.
  • Strong interest in AI and its application within analytics and decision-making environments.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience within a regulated industry is advantageous but not essential.
