Executive

Location: Exeter, Devon Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm Working Pattern: Office based

About the Role

We’re currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Internal Sales Executive to join a well-established and growing business based in Exeter.

Working as part of a close-knit office team, you’ll support the external sales function while managing inbound customer enquiries, processing orders and looking after an existing customer base.

This is a varied commercial role where you’ll work closely with sales, operations and transport to make sure customers receive the right products at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle inbound customer enquiries by phone and email
• Prepare accurate quotations and convert enquiries into orders
• Process customer orders from start to finish using SAP
• Maintain accurate pricing, stock and delivery information
• Manage and develop relationships with an existing customer base
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and develop customer accounts
• Support the external sales team with quotations, follow-ups and administration
• Liaise with operations and transport teams to coordinate stock availability and deliveries
• Deal with customer queries and resolve any delivery or order issues
• Keep customers updated throughout the order process
• Contribute towards branch sales targets
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider branch

About You

Hands-on SAP experience is essential for this role. You must have proven experience using SAP within a sales, order processing or commercial environment.

We’re looking for someone who also has:

• Previous experience in internal sales, telesales, sales administration or commercial customer service
• Strong SAP experience and confidence navigating the system
• A confident and professional telephone manner
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to manage a high volume of quotations and orders
• Good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload
• A team-focused and reliable approach
• Experience within metals, steel, manufacturing, distribution or a similar industry would be beneficial but is not essential, as full product training will be provided.
