Machining Engineer
Hanwha Aerospace is hiring two Machining Engineers to join our manufacturing operations in Cairo.
This is a strong next step for an engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on machining experience who is ready to take broader ownership. You will work across precision components, CNC equipment and production processes, solve real shop-floor problems, and build the capability to become a key local machining specialist.
In this role, you will: Review mechanical drawings, geometric tolerances and work instructions, and translate them into practical machining methods, process sequences, tooling and inspection points.
Support turning, milling and CNC machining for a high-mix production environment.
Create, review and modify NC programs and machining conditions using Siemens or FANUC CNC controls.
Investigate machining defects when the required shape, dimensions or quality are not achieved, identify the cause and implement corrective actions.
Support the stable operation of vertical machining centres, horizontal boring machines and plano milling equipment.
Understand how machining changes affect inspection, rework, welding, assembly, delivery and final product performance.
Coordinate technical issues with production, quality, welding and assembly teams until they are resolved.
Learn from experienced visiting engineers and technicians, standardize transferred knowledge and help build independent local machining capability.
Maintain machining records, program revision history, quality issues and corrective-action results.
What you can expect: Practical ownership beyond routine machine operation.
Exposure to large and varied machining equipment and complex manufacturing processes.
Direct knowledge transfer and collaboration with experienced international specialists.
An opportunity to grow into a trusted local technical expert as operations develop.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 3–5 years of practical machining experience in machinery, industrial equipment, construction equipment, automotive components or a comparable manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and understand geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Good practical knowledge of turning, milling, machining methods, cutting tools and inspection points.
- Hands-on experience with CNC equipment and NC programming; experience with Siemens or FANUC controls is strongly preferred.
- Ability to analyze machining defects, review existing NC code and machining conditions, and recommend effective corrections.
- A proactive approach to shop-floor problem solving and willingness to coordinate with different departments.
- Working English communication skills for technical documents and collaboration with international specialists.
- Willingness to work on-site in Cairo and, when production requires, work approved rotating shifts, night shifts or overtime in accordance with Egyptian law and company procedures.
Experience with every listed machine type is not required. Candidates with strong machining fundamentals, solid troubleshooting ability and the motivation to learn larger or more advanced equipment are encouraged to apply.
