Buying Agent - Dates and Street Carts

Hajuh is hiring a Buying Agent to supply street vendors who sell dates. Your job is to buy dates and street carts at the best price and quality, then get them ready for vendors to sell on the street. Responsibilities:

• Find and buy good-quality dates at wholesale / market prices
• Find and buy street carts suitable for selling dates
• Compare suppliers on price, freshness, quality, and delivery
• Negotiate the best deals
• Arrange pickup / delivery of dates and carts
• Check quality before paying (reject bad stock)
• Keep simple records: supplier, price, quantity, date bought
• Make sure vendors get what they need to start selling
• Send clear updates: what you bought, cost, and where it came from

What success looks like:

• Vendors get fresh dates and a working cart
• We pay less than street retail for the same goods
• Stock arrives on time and in good condition

• Honest, reliable, and good with people
• Comfortable visiting markets, wholesalers, and workshops
• Strong negotiation skills (can talk price down politely)
• Knows (or can quickly learn) date quality and fair market prices
• Has a phone and WhatsApp for daily updates
• Can move around the city / nearby markets
• Basic Arabic required; English a plus
• No fancy degree needed - real market sense matters more

Nice to have:

• Experience buying food products, dates, or street-vendor equipment
• Contacts with date wholesalers or cart makers
• Motorbike / car for market runs
