For the Vilsbiburg location, we are looking for:

Senior Component Product Developer (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

• Detailed design and elaboration of complex individual parts and components for assemblies according to specified requirements
• Development and optimization of components from concept to series production readiness, including assuming component responsibility
• Execution of technical leadership tasks as well as technical correspondence in the development process
• Technical and schedule-based control of assigned capacities domestically and abroad in coordination with the design manager
• Technical and schedule-based controlling of suppliers during the series development phase
• Responsibility within the project team for defined component areas, e.g., instrument panel, center console, door trim, gear lever, ambient lighting, sunshade, as well as other assemblies
• Definition of tasks, recognition and analysis of problems, and development of suitable solutions
• Coordination of internal and external realization possibilities as well as support for implementation into series production
• Coordination of activities with relevant specialist departments, design managers, suppliers, as well as internal and external development partners
• Breaking down part requirements into individual parts, taking into account load profiles, sightlines, and requirements from manufacturing processes
• Development of concepts based on specifications and customer specifications
• Execution and documentation of technical analyses
• Construction, processing, and testing of 3D models and drawings according to development specifications and customer guidelines
• Ensuring assemblability, functionality, and detailed design of fastening concepts
• Consideration of findings from adjacent specialist areas, including production topics, FEM, Moldflow, and SQR
• Execution and coordination of component tolerancing, taking into account FTA, DAK, and tolerance calculations
• Compilation of inquiry data such as quotation data, inquiry drawings, component data sheets, specifications, and performance interface agreements
• Technical, qualitative, and schedule-based control of suppliers, including documentation
• Creation of technical decision bases within the framework of development work
• Processing of change requests in change management
• Checking of design documents according to approval processes and creation of corresponding documentation
• Creation, checking, and recommendation for approval of data and drawings of components in the development process
• Participation in risk filter and FMEA, as well as feeding relevant content back into technical documentation
• Independent transfer and archiving of data models and drawings in coordination with the design manager
• Participation in coordination and analysis of development prototypes as well as tool-related components regarding process, dimension, function, optics, and economic manufacturability
• Development of novel design methods to increase efficiency, including the use of AI
• Testing and technical evaluation of new CAD software
• Elaboration of internal procedures for update-stable and parametric designs

Your qualifications:

• Completed university or technical college degree with 1 to 2 years of professional experience

or Technician/Business Administrator qualification with 3 to 5 years of professional experience or technical vocational training with 5 to 8 years of professional experience and additional qualification

• Alternatively, comparable knowledge and skills acquired in other ways
• Practical experience in at least one complete development project across all development phases
• Confident handling of theoretical knowledge in the areas of CAD, materials science, FEM, testing, process technology, and plastics technology
• Very good English skills
• Experience in the area of Simultaneous Engineering Process
