Your tasks

About the role In our Data Science team, you will have the opportunity to work as part of our product squads, developing functionalities that enrich our product and provide the top-notch experience for which we are recognized. You will work alongside brilliant professionals with different specialties: Product Managers, Designers, UX Writers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, among others. Some of the specific problems we work on in the Data Science team include search and recommendation systems; improving customer experience using machine learning (such as automatic ticket routing); pricing, liquidity, and credit models; and building a platform that allows us to develop and deploy all these solutions.

• Architect, develop, and deploy machine learning systems in production. The main use cases are related to chatbots and search systems.
• Design and execute experiments.
• Analyze a wide variety of data (structured and unstructured, observational and experimental) to improve current models or create new ones.
• Apply the scientific method to develop applications driven by LLMs, including testing different prompts, exploring and understanding the capabilities of LLMs, evaluating agents and prompts, analyzing AI application guardrails, and building PoCs to validate the feasibility of generative AI in product functionalities.
• Actively participate in discussions and decisions related to the entire Data Science chapter (Guilds, Design Reviews, Demos, etc.).

Requirements

Note: This is a senior position. We expect you to have at least 3+ years of experience applying Data Science and creating machine learning models. If you have the skills but are starting your career in Data Science, we recommend you apply for the Data Scientist position.

What we are looking for

• People who want to learn and generate real impact through Data Science.
• Expert knowledge in machine learning concepts: regression and classification, clustering, neural networks, feature selection, cross-validation, curse of dimensionality, bias-variance tradeoff, model explainability, among others.
• Good understanding of the engineering challenges to deploy machine learning systems in production.
• Mastery of Python.
• Knowledge or experience with Deep Learning.
• Experience providing technical advice to other data scientists (technical leadership).
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills. We are looking for someone passionate about Data Science and Machine Learning, willing to share their knowledge with other members of the Data Science Chapter.
• A good level of English (oral and written) is mandatory.

You will stand out if

• You have an MSc. (or bachelor's + solid experience) in machine learning, data science, information retrieval, ranking systems, recommender systems, natural language processing or other relevant fields.
• You have experience with applied generative AI: AI agents, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning (LoRA, QLoRA, PEFT), LLM routing, LLM monitoring, and LLM guardrails.
• You have experience working in fast-growing startups.
