MIU City University Miami is seeking highly qualified adjunct professors to teach graduate-level online cybersecurity courses.

Position Overview

We are looking for passionate educators and industry professionals with strong academic credentials and expertise in one or more cybersecurity-related disciplines. This position is ideal for candidates with teaching experience in higher education and hands-on professional experience in cybersecurity.

Faculty may teach one or more courses in the following subject areas:

Areas of Expertise

  • Cybercrime and Cybersecurity Regulations
  • Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Analysis
  • Computer Forensics and Incident Response
  • Systems, Applications, and Big Data Security
  • Network Security and Intelligent Threat Analysis
  • Secure Software Development and Auditing

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Deliver high-quality graduate-level instruction aligned with the university curriculum and academic standards.
  • Teach assigned courses in an on-campus and hybrid learning environment.
  • Facilitate student engagement, assignments, grading, and course management through Canvas LMS .
  • Assess and evaluate student learning outcomes and academic performance.
  • Review and update course syllabi and instructional materials as needed.
  • Submit grading reports and required academic documentation in a timely manner.
  • Provide mentorship, academic guidance, and support to graduate students.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and university academic activities.
  • Serve as a jury member for Capstone dissertations at the end of the semester, when applicable.
  • Maintain academic excellence, professional integrity, and adherence to MIU’s hybrid educational model.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral or terminal degree (Ph.D., D.Sc ., or equivalent) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security , or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience teaching in higher education , preferably at the graduate level.
  • Experience using Canvas LMS or similar learning management systems.
  • Ability to teach on campus in Miami, Florida .
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Valid U.S. work authorization .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, Cisco Cybersecurity Professional (CCP), Cisco Certified Specialist – Cybersecurity Forensic Analysis and Incident Response , or equivalent.
  • Professional experience in cybersecurity, digital forensics, risk management, incident response, network security, or secure software development .
  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design for higher education courses.
