DevOps Engineering Manager (m/f)

The DevOps team at Grupa Pracuj develops and maintains a platform supporting the work of dozens of product teams. We operate in a hybrid environment (on-prem, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes), being responsible for its 24/7 availability and reliability. We treat the platform as our own product - developing self-service, automation, and deployments in a GitOps model. We are looking for a team leader who takes full responsibility for people - their development, motivation, and way of working. We are looking for someone who consciously builds their role as a manager and wants to grow in people management. A high level of technical competence is important, but the key is building authority and influence in the technical area, so that the team realistically takes your recommendations into account. Compensation system: fixed base salary + fixed bonus (semi-annual)

How we work in the Technology department

Our projects are well-prepared, and functionalities are excellently documented. We research, test, experiment, sometimes make mistakes, from which we learn and draw conclusions as part of an After Action Review. Knowledge exchange

Daily tasks

• You lead the DevOps team on a daily basis: you set priorities and goals, organize work, regular 1:1s, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct evaluations
• You develop the team: you plan and implement career paths, support competence development, recruit, and effectively lead the onboarding of new people
• You are responsible for the availability, performance, and reliability of the production platform
• You ensure that maintenance operates according to SLA/OLA: 24/7 shifts, efficient incident handling, Tier III support
• You maintain the balance between "production must stay up" and "the platform must evolve"
• You are the voice of DevOps in the organization - you talk to stakeholders in a language they understand
• You organize cooperation with product and security teams
• You manage the team budget as well as infrastructure and cloud costs
• You ensure that standards (CI/CD, IaC, GitOps, code review, automation) are alive, not just on slides
• You plan platform and tool development with a strategic perspective

Requirements

You act independently: you can set a direction and implement initiatives without constant supervision You have several years of experience in managing a technological team (goals, evaluations, employee development) - a mandatory requirement You understand DevOps from the inside - CI/CD, containerization, IaC, and monitoring; infrastructure is not just a buzzword to you; you can assess and direct the team's work You know how to reconcile 24/7 maintenance with platform development and consciously set priorities You communicate easily with both engineers and business - and you can translate one into the other You feel comfortable in the cloud (for us, primarily Azure) and know the on-prem realities You know English at a minimum level of B2+
