General Farm Maintenance Supervisor

Greenhill Fruit Farm is a soft fruit producer located in Co. Wexford operating in a LEAN culture built on continuous improvement, strong safety standards, and a genuine commitment to developing our teams. Due to expansion we have an exciting opportunity for a General Construction Team Leader to help shape the next stage of our growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager to lead, direct, and supervise the general construction team on a daily basis
• Build new polytunnels and maintain, repair, and replace existing polytunnel structures
• Plan and carry out general construction and project work
• Operate farm and construction machinery safely and to a competent standard
• Communicate instructions clearly to the team in both Romanian and English
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety requirements (HSA-aligned)
• Identify and report hazards, defects, and near misses without delay
• Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery in good working order; report faults immediately
• Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe
• Support continuous improvement — flag better ways of working through the farm's CI system
• Support and coach team members; identify training needs

Essential Criteria:

• Proficiency in both Romanian and English (spoken and understood) — essential for leading a mixed-language team
• Minimum 2 years' experience in general construction, agricultural, or horticultural build work
• Full, valid B driving licence
• Proven ability to lead and direct a small team on-site
• Experience building and maintaining structures
• Competent operating farm/construction machinery (digger, forklift, telehandler, or similar)
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Understanding of basic health and safety practice on a construction/agricultural site

Desirable Criteria:

• Manual Handling, Working at Height, or Safe Pass certification
• Telehandler / Forklift licence
• Experience in soft fruit or horticultural production environments
• Basic project planning or scheduling experience
