Livestock Worker

Dairy Farm Assistant required for a progressive grass-based dairy enterprise.
The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day operation of the farm, including:
- milking dairy cows,
- feeding and watering livestock,
- calf rearing,
- assisting during calving,
- monitoring animal health and welfare,
- operating and cleaning milking equipment,
- maintaining high standards of hygiene and biosecurity,
- moving and handling livestock safely,
- assisting with grassland management,
- operating tractors and other farm machinery where appropriately trained,
- carrying out general farm maintenance,
- and completing other duties associated with the efficient operation of the dairy farm.
Applicants should have:
- previous practical dairy farming experience,
- good animal husbandry skills,
- knowledge of milking procedures and livestock welfare,
- be physically fit,
- reliable,
- hardworking,
- able to work independently and as part of a team,
- and committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety and animal welfare.
A qualification in Agriculture or a related discipline is advantageous but not essential where relevant practical experience has been obtained.
