Legal and Trade Compliance Officer

Responsibilities

• Manage contract-related matters, including the review, administration, and record management of non-disclosure agreements, commercial agreements, and business contracts.
• Support the resolution of legal disputes by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee corporate compliance programmes, including anti-trust and anti-bribery requirements across the Southeast Asia region.
• Conduct legal and compliance training to strengthen regulatory awareness and adherence.
• Lead Personal Data Protection activities and ensure compliance with PDPA requirements through regular assessments and risk mitigation measures.
• Support the implementation and management of security trade control and export control requirements across the organisation.
• Manage end-user screening, verification processes, and follow-up actions for compliance reviews.
• Administer export control processes in SAP, including material classification, manufacturer confirmation, and export licence releases in accordance with established procedures.
• Liaise with Headquarters Legal and Export Control teams on transactions involving restricted jurisdictions or military-related organisations.
• Deliver export control training and compliance updates to business teams to support compliant transactions.
• Prepare annual sales reports and participate in regional and global export control initiatives and meetings.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, export control, or international trade regulations.
• Experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment with exposure to contract review and contract management.
• Knowledge of security trade controls, export control regulations, and compliance frameworks.
• Familiarity with Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) compliance and data protection risk assessments.
