Japanese Speaking Reporter / Editor [Economic News | Up to $4,500 + AWS]

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and analyse government statistics, economic indicators, and market data to develop business and economic news articles.
• Gather information through interviews with companies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Follow up on press releases and news announcements to verify information and develop news coverage.
• Liaise with public relations representatives and relevant parties to arrange interviews and obtain information for reporting purposes.
• Organise research findings and interview content into clear, accurate, and informative written articles.
• Develop reporting capabilities by progressively undertaking more independent research and original content creation.
• Proactively identify emerging trends, topics, and areas for future coverage.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in any industry.
• Proficiency in Japanese language for liaising with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders, and for producing business and economic articles in Japanese.
• Business-level English proficiency for conducting research, communication, and interviews with English-speaking clients and stakeholders.
• Strong research, analytical, and information-gathering skills.
• Demonstrated persistence, attention to detail, and ability to conduct in-depth research.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to conduct interviews professionally.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create charts and tables.
• Willingness to travel and conduct on-site reporting when required.
• Prior reporting or editing experience in the media industry is an added advantage.
