Business Analyst / Project Manager – Banking Business Process Transformation (Japanese Speaking)

Role Overview:

Our client is a leading Japanese consulting organisation supporting financial institutions across APAC with business transformation and digital initiatives. This role will focus on business process re-engineering within the banking and financial services sector, covering areas such as Loan, Trade Finance and Remittance. You will work closely with business, operations and solution teams to transform existing processes, improve operational efficiency and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead business process transformation initiatives from business analysis through implementation and benefits realisation.
• Conduct process discovery workshops and document current-state (As-Is) business processes.
• Analyse process bottlenecks and identify opportunities for process optimisation and automation.
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions and gather business requirements across business, operations and solution teams.
• Define future-state (To-Be) processes and recommend appropriate process improvement solutions.
• Manage project scope, action items, risks, issues and follow-up activities to support timely delivery.
• Prepare project status reports, dashboards and management updates.
• Coordinate with solution teams to clarify business requirements and support solution design.
• Support UAT planning, execution, defect tracking and issue resolution.
• Assist with user training, communication and change management activities.
• Monitor project benefits realisation, including FTE savings tracking and reporting.
• Ensure process improvement initiatives remain aligned with business objectives and operational goals.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

Requirements:

[Must Have]

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Business Analysis, PMO, Project Management or Business Transformation Consulting.
• Relevant experience within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong experience in process mapping, business analysis and requirements gathering.
• Proven ability to facilitate workshops and manage discussions with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong documentation, reporting and presentation skills.
• Experience supporting UAT, including planning, execution and issue management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to liaise effectively with English-speaking stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Japanese for liaising with Japanese-speaking stakeholders and supporting effective communication during project delivery.

[Good to Have]

• Knowledge of Loan, Trade Finance, Remittance, KYC, AML or Banking Operations processes.
• Experience in Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) or process transformation initiatives.
• Experience with automation, digital transformation or process improvement projects.
• Knowledge of Power Platform, Power Apps, workflow automation, AI or OCR solutions.
