Assistant Trader / Trader (Raw Materials)

Responsibilities

• Perform trading activities for ferrous raw materials, including sales and marketing functions.
• Manage existing customer accounts and develop new business opportunities.
• Liaise with clients, overseas offices, and headquarters to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Coordinate order processing and logistics arrangements to support timely delivery.
• Monitor customer credit lines and manage inventory-related risks.
• Oversee logistics execution to ensure efficient and accurate operations.
• Process and follow up on accounts receivable and payable activities.
• Carry out additional duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior experience in trading or non-ferrous scrap metals is not required, though Candidates with 3 years of experience in commodity trading, preferably within the metals sector, is an added advantage.
• Interest in developing a career in commodity trading and ferrous/non-ferrous metals trading.
• Willingness to travel for business trips within the region, including ASEAN countries, India, and Korea, as required.
• Understanding of finance and accounting principles, shipping processes, and international trade payment methods.
• Proficiency in Mandarin for liaising with Mandarin-speaking clients and suppliers.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is an added advantage.
• Stable employment history with demonstrated tenure in previous roles is an added advantage.
