Tasks

We are now seeking three doctoral students in Software and AI Engineering with a focus on continuous compliance in software-intensive systems. The positions are part of a larger research collaboration between academic and industrial partners within, among other things, the automotive industry, telecommunications, aerospace, industrial automation, manufacturing industry, and safety-critical systems.

The three doctoral students will work with different but complementary aspects of continuous compliance.

Doctoral education comprises four years of full-time studies and leads to a doctoral degree. Within the framework of your doctoral employment, you may have departmental service amounting to a maximum of 20% of full-time, distributed over the entire period of education, which in that case generates a corresponding extension of the education period. Departmental service usually includes teaching at undergraduate and advanced levels, but research and administration may also be included.

Eligibility

To enter doctoral education at the doctoral level, basic eligibility and, where applicable, the special eligibility established in the general study plan for the doctoral subject are required.

Basic eligibility for doctoral education at the doctoral level is held by those who:

  1. have completed a degree at an advanced level, or
  1. have completed course requirements of at least 240 higher education credits, of which at least 60 higher education credits are at an advanced level, or
  1. have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge within or outside the country.

Basis for assessment

Selection among applicants who meet the requirements for basic and special eligibility is based on the ability to assimilate the doctoral education. It is important in your application to report on your work with theses and articles that you have written or co-authored. Links to relevant projects should be included where relevant.

Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is a requirement. Swedish is not a requirement, but the department offers courses in Swedish.

Admission and employment

After you have been admitted to doctoral education, you will receive a doctoral employment at Göteborgs universitet. Provisions for employment as a doctoral student are found in regulation SFS 1993:100.

The first employment as a doctoral student may last at most one year and may be renewed with at most two years at a time.

A doctoral student may be employed as a doctoral student for a maximum of eight years, but the total employment period may not be longer than what corresponds to doctoral-level education on a full-time basis for four years.

The university applies a local agreement on salary setting for doctoral students.

Doctoral education at Computer Science and Engineering requires physical presence to conduct the studies. If the person admitted requires a residence permit to conduct studies in Sweden, Computer Science and Engineering has the right to revoke the decision on admission in the event that the admitted person cannot present a valid residence permit on the date of the start of studies.
