About the company

Gobao is an international supplier of e-bike drive systems, serving OEM and brand customers worldwide. Our European team is newly established and growing fast — 2027 will be our biggest year yet, with a major flagship trade fair program plus a full-year calendar of dealer events, product launches, press events and test-ride experiences across Europe.

Your tasks

We are hiring an Event Manager to own this portfolio end-to-end — from strategy and budgeting to flawless on-site delivery and post-event ROI analysis. You will work directly with the Strategy & Marketing Director Europe.

1. Trade Show Program (core)

  • Plan and deliver our international trade fair presences end-to-end — organizer relationships, stand design and construction partners, show services, on-site activations, and lead capture processes
  • Manage sponsorship deliverables and media assets (digital signage, stage slots, hospitality) and ensure every contracted right is executed
  • Navigate venue regulations and compliance topics confidently — including battery charging and live product demos, a daily reality for an e-drive company

2. Annual Event Calendar

  • Plan and deliver dealer meetings, product launches, press events and test-ride experiences (indoor test areas and outdoor tracks) across Europe — on time, on budget
  • Support association and industry activities (e.g. industry association formats, partner events)

3. Budget & Vendor Ownership

  • Own an annual events budget in the high six figures (EUR): quotations, POs, contracting, invoice verification, cost tracking
  • Build and manage our European supplier base: stand builders, AV, printing, catering, hostess agencies, freight forwarders
  • Supervise international logistics, including lithium battery transport compliance (UN3480/UN38.3) and customs documentation (ATA Carnet)

4. Cross-functional Orchestration & Measurement

  • Align sales, product, PR and brand teams around each event; brief and steer external agencies and freelancers
  • Define event KPIs (leads, meetings, brand impact), run exhibitor tools (matchmaking, lead scanning, CRM handover), and deliver post-event reviews that feed directly into commercial follow-up
  • Lead on-site operations: team scheduling, logistics, hospitality, real-time problem solving

Requirements

  • 4+ years of B2B event / trade show management experience, including large-scale custom stands (200+ sqm) independently delivered
  • Working knowledge of major German exhibition venues and processes
  • Proven record managing six-figure event budgets and multiple external vendors
  • Familiarity with international event logistics; knowledge of lithium battery shipping or ATA Carnet is a plus
  • Languages: business-fluent English, German and Mandarin Chinese — all three are required (daily collaboration with our China HQ; negotiations with European venues and suppliers)
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and occasionally to China (approx. 20–30%)
  • Strong project management discipline — timelines, budgets and stakeholders with equal rigor; hands-on mentality, calm under pressure
  • Background in bicycle/e-bike, mobility or consumer electronics is a strong plus; passion for cycling or micromobility even better

What we offer

  • A high-ownership role at the center of Gobao's European growth story, reporting directly to the Strategy & Marketing Director
  • Flagship projects with real visibility at leading international industry platforms
  • International environment (German / English / Chinese), hybrid working, modern Frankfurt office
  • Competitive salary package — tell us your expectations
