We are seeking an IT Specialist to serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams. The role involves understanding operational, tactical and strategic business requirements and translating them into effective, practical IT solutions. The position combines stakeholder engagement, IT infrastructure coordination, project management, service delivery, compliance, cybersecurity awareness and technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their IT requirements and align technology solutions with business and corporate objectives.
- Act as the primary liaison between users, business teams and IT divisions to ensure effective communication and delivery of IT services.
- Communicate IT updates, policies, security requirements, standards and user guidance clearly and effectively.
- Lead and coordinate IT initiatives, process improvements, compliance activities, budgets and operational requirements.
- Independently manage IT solution implementations from initial planning and requirements gathering through execution and delivery.
- Monitor IT service requests and ensure incidents, issues and tickets are appropriately tracked, followed up and resolved.
- Support stakeholders in understanding and adopting IT services, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and encourage the secure and effective use of IT resources.
- Coordinate Proof-of-Concept (PoC) activities with vendors and teams to evaluate emerging technologies and support digital transformation initiatives.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies, IT strategies and industry developments through relevant courses, seminars, conferences and industry events.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- General knowledge of IT infrastructure and technical environments, including basic network setup and infrastructure concepts.
- Ability to identify, propose and coordinate IT solutions, including Virtual Machines (VMs) and data storage systems.
- Familiarity with enterprise IT systems, platforms and data centre operations that support corporate services.
- Understanding of IT service desk operations, incident management and ticketing processes.
- Good understanding of IT service offerings and the ability to translate business requirements into clear and appropriate IT requirements.
- Familiarity with IT policies and the Whole of System Register.
- Ability to support business compliance with IT policies, standards, procedures and guidelines, including End-User Acceptable Use Policies.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a highly interactive, stakeholder-facing environment.
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, establish trust and act as a dependable single point of contact for IT matters.
- Strong interest in technology and cybersecurity, with a passion for promoting technology adoption and supporting new IT initiatives.
