Hybrid (Following Completion of Probation) £50K -65K DOE GMP Recruitment Agency Limited is partnering with an established regional law firm looking to recruit an Employment Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its Employment Litigation Team, in Southampton.

The Opportunity Joining a respected regional law firm, you will have the opportunity to develop your employment law practice, work with a diverse client base and contribute to the ongoing success of an established team.

Your tasks

This is an excellent opportunity for an employment law professional to manage a varied caseload of contentious employment matters, advising both individuals and businesses. The successful candidate will play an important role in delivering high-quality legal services, developing client relationships and contributing to the continued growth and reputation of the firm.

You will handle a broad range of employment litigation matters, acting for both claimants and respondents, while providing clear, commercially focused advice to individual and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities will include

• Managing a varied caseload of contentious employment matters from inception through to resolution.
• Advising and representing both individual and corporate clients in employment disputes.
• Preparing cases for Employment Tribunal proceedings and undertaking advocacy where appropriate.
• Building strong client relationships through clear communication, practical advice and effective case management.
• Managing and supporting secretarial and administrative staff where applicable.
• Maintaining high standards of client care, matter management, billing and time recording.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant professional, regulatory and firm-wide policies.
• Attending networking events and supporting business development initiatives to raise the firm's profile and develop new opportunities.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in employment litigation and the confidence to manage their own caseload.

You will ideally demonstrate

• Experience handling both claimant and respondent employment matters.
• Strong technical knowledge of employment law and tribunal procedures.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and client relationship skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver a high-quality, commercially focused service.
• Experience of advocacy, or a willingness and ability to undertake advocacy where appropriate.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to support and manage colleagues.
• A proactive approach to networking, business development and contributing to the wider success of the team.
