We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to oversee the financial accounting, reporting, controls and compliance functions of the organisation.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, maintaining robust financial controls, and providing timely insights to support business decision-making. The role will work closely with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders across the organisation and, where applicable, regional or country finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Reporting & Accounting
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions and other accounting entries.
  • Monitor and manage the financial accounting activities of the business.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for complex and non-routine transactions.
  • Prepare financial statements, management reports and analysis for senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
  1. Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying key variances and business drivers.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.
  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate financial implications of commercial initiatives, investments and operational decisions.
  • Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  1. Financial Controls & Compliance
  • Establish, implement and maintain effective internal financial controls and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and recommend appropriate mitigating controls.
  • Review and improve finance policies, procedures and approval processes.
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Work with tax advisors and relevant authorities on tax compliance matters where required.
  1. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity and working capital requirements.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable and collection activities.
  • Review credit exposure and outstanding receivables and work with relevant stakeholders to improve cash collection.
  • Ensure appropriate controls over payments, banking activities and cash management.
  1. Business & Commercial Partnership
  • Partner with senior management and business functions to provide financial insights and challenge business decisions where appropriate.
  • Translate financial data into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Support commercial and operational teams in evaluating business cases, investments, cost initiatives and other strategic projects.
  • Develop and maintain financial KPIs and dashboards to support business performance monitoring.
  1. Process Improvement & Systems
  • Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, controls and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline finance activities.
  • Support the implementation, enhancement and optimisation of ERP and finance systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across financial systems and reporting platforms.
  1. Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach and develop the finance team to ensure effective delivery of finance operations and reporting.
  • Establish clear objectives, responsibilities and performance expectations for the team.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, continuous improvement and business partnership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience , with experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting and financial controls.
  • Experience managing month-end and year-end closing processes and external audits.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore accounting standards, statutory and tax requirements.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams.
  • Regional or multi-entity experience would be an advantage.
