Key Responsibilities Maintain and manage essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware across the University.

Manage and support business-critical IT systems and services to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations across the University.

Perform server administration tasks, including user and group management, security permissions, Group Policies, and print services. Research event-log warnings and errors and monitor system resources to ensure optimal system performance and stability.

Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware solutions, including AWS Cloud, ESXi Hypervisor, Veeam Backup, and Kaspersky EDR Server, across both on-premises and cloud environments.

Manage network servers and technology infrastructure, ensuring data security, system availability, and efficient performance.

Set up user accounts, workstations, and required IT resources for new employees, ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding process.

Monitor system performance and maintain IT systems in accordance with established requirements and standards, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.

Provide technical support to the Help Desk and other University departments by troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and implementing appropriate solutions.

Conduct routine and scheduled audits of IT systems, including backup systems, to ensure data integrity, system availability, and disaster recovery readiness.

Implement and maintain IT security measures, including access controls, firewalls, endpoint protection, and regular data backups.

Keep up to date with emerging technologies, IT trends, and best practices to enhance technical expertise and support the effective adoption of new technologies across the University.

Create, maintain, and regularly update an internal IT knowledge base/wiki containing technical documentation, user manuals, procedures, and IT policies to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational continuity.

Collaborate with relevant University departments to migrate Microsoft Access databases to SQL databases based on operational and business requirements.

Manage Google Workspace Administration and University email services to ensure efficient communication, collaboration, and secure access for staff and users.

Manage QNAP NAS storage systems and perform daily monitoring and checks to ensure data availability, storage integrity, and system reliability.

Perform backup restoration through Veeam when required, ensuring timely and secure data recovery.

Perform any other related IT duties and responsibilities as assigned by the University.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a similar role.

Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, user and group management, and security permissions.

Hands-on experience with server virtualization technologies, particularly VMware ESXi/Hypervisor.

Good knowledge and practical experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions, preferably Veeam Backup.

Experience in managing endpoint security solutions, preferably Kaspersky EDR or similar security platforms.

Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS Cloud.

Good understanding of network infrastructure, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and network security.

Experience in managing email and collaboration platforms, preferably Google Workspace / Google Admin.

Experience with NAS storage solutions, preferably QNAP.

Knowledge of Microsoft Access and SQL databases, with the ability to support database migration and integration.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Good understanding of IT security principles, access control, data protection, backup, and disaster recovery.

Ability to monitor system performance, analyze event logs, and proactively identify potential technical issues.

Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills, including the ability to prepare technical manuals, procedures, and IT policies.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide technical support to staff across different University departments.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced academic environment.

Strong commitment to confidentiality, data security, and compliance with University IT policies and procedures.

Ability and willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies and continuously develop technical knowledge.

Good command of English, both written and spoken.
