Collections Specialist

£30,000 - £40,000 + Bonus Birmingham | Full-Time Office Based The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing financial services business that supports SMEs with flexible funding solutions. With continued growth and expansion, the business is looking to strengthen its high-performing collections team with ambitious and driven individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the chance to build valuable negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills while working within a supportive and target-driven team. You'll take ownership of your own portfolio of accounts, working closely with business customers to recover outstanding balances and agree sustainable repayment solutions. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of business customer accounts in arrears. Proactively engage with customers via telephone, email and written correspondence. Negotiate payment arrangements and deliver positive recovery outcomes. Work towards and exceed monthly collection targets. Assess customer circumstances and determine appropriate collection strategies. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and agreements. Escalate complex or high-risk cases when required. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal procedures. Contribute positively to a high-performing and results-focused team environment. About You Previous experience within financial services, fintech, lending, brokerage or SME finance in a collections, credit control or similar position. Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving targets. Confident communicator who can handle challenging conversations professionally. Resilient, motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Positive attitude with a desire to learn, develop and progress.
