SOFTWARE ENGINEER - EMBEDDED AVIONICS

The positions we may propose to you may include activities such as:

• Analyzing system and software requirements; drafting SRS/SDD and ensuring end-to-end traceability.
• Designing and developing real-time embedded software and HMI components in C/C++ (and Java/Qt/QML where required).
• Developing multithreaded object-oriented applications on Linux/Windows and RTOS; managing process/thread/memory resources.
• Implementing interfaces and data handlers for avionics buses and interoperability (e.g., ARINC, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet; ADatP-3 messaging).
• Creating unit tests, achieving coverage targets, and performing static code analysis; managing defect closure.
• Integrating and validating software on target platforms; supporting system tests, troubleshooting, and acceptance (ATP).
• Automating build/test pipelines and managing configuration/versioning (e.g., Git/SVN).
• Collaborating in concurrent engineering with systems, hardware/FPGA, and test teams; contributing to design and progress reviews.
• Drafting technical documentation and reports compliant with aerospace standards.
• Ensuring compliance with quality, HSE, information security, and export control requirements.

Do you have these characteristics?

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related fields.
• Experience in embedded/avionics software development for mission/safety critical systems.
• Excellent knowledge of C/C++; multithreading, IPC, and real-time on Linux/Windows or RTOS.
• Experience with requirements and modeling tools (e.g., DOORS, UML/SysML); structured documentation (SRS/SDD/test spec).
• Competence in unit testing and static analysis; familiarity with CI and code review.
• Knowledge of avionics/software standards and processes (e.g., DO-178C, EN 9100/ISO 9001).
• Skills in using versioning/configuration (e.g., Git/SVN).
• Problem solving, communication, and teamwork; ability to operate onsite with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent Italian and English, written and spoken.
