Ship Captain
Job Requirements & Responsibilities
- Must possess at least a Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 2 Deck Officer and a valid Certificate of Endorsement (CoE), with all relevant certificates complying with MPA rules and regulations.
- Must possess a valid Manning Licence issued by MPA .
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working on lighterage boats , particularly for the delivery of drums, pails, and IBCs.
- Must be willing to work and stay onboard the lighterage boat on a 12-hour shift, as required by vessel operations.
- Comfortable working onboard and travelling by boat for every voyage, including operations within Outer Port Limits (OPL).
- Familiar with safe navigation, vessel operations, and onboard safety procedures.
- Responsible for the management of onboard personnel and inventory of ship's stores.
- Ensure the safe handling, securing, and delivery of cargo.
- Report any defects, hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions to Management promptly.
- Maintain all required vessel records, logbooks, and operational documentation.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Leave Entitlement
- Employee is entitled to 2 days of paid annual leave for each completed month of service , up to a maximum of 24 days per year, subject to the Company's leave policy.
- Annual leave for home leave purposes may be applied for after completing 6 months of employment , subject to Management's approval, operational requirements, and the Company's leave policy.
- All leave applications must be submitted in advance and are subject to Management's approval and operational requirements.
