Student Assistants (m/f/d) (Database Administrator)
The GWDG is looking for two
Student Assistants (m/f/d)
with up to 80 hours of employment per month to support the "eScience" working group (AG E) starting immediately. Remuneration is in accordance with the regulations for Student/Research Assistants. The positions are initially limited to twelve months.
The Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG) is a joint institution of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen Stiftung Öffentlichen Rechts and the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft. It fulfills the function of a computing and IT competence center for the Max-Planck-Gesellschaft and the university computing center for the Universität Göttingen. Together with the university, the GWDG is one of nine data centers in the Nationales Hochleistungsrechnen (NHR) association and one of four German AI service centers. Furthermore, the GWDG is a service operator for the Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI). The scientific research tasks of the GWDG lie in the field of Angewandte Informatik. Furthermore, it promotes the training of specialists for information technology.
Areas of Responsibility
You will work in the team of the Göttingen eResearch Alliance and contribute to supporting researchers at the Göttingen Campus in all matters of research data management. In doing so, you will cover the following areas of responsibility:
Team internal organization and communication
Public relations and external representation via the website, Social Media, and other channels
Organization of events such as summer schools, workshops, or trainings
Reporting on the activities of the Göttingen eResearch Alliance
Depending on the qualifications and interests of the applicants, these areas of responsibility can also be divided between the two Student Assistants.
Requirements
Do you enjoy working in a team and supporting it in undertaking an essential task for research support? This is the central prerequisite for managing the required tasks. Furthermore, we expect you to
be able to handle common Office products,
be able to work in an organized manner and support others in doing so, and
be able to communicate in English.
Desirable
If you have experience in the field of event management or have already come into contact with the topic of research data management, this would be of great advantage for the mentioned areas of responsibility. Experience in the field of programming is likewise an advantage.
