Freight Forwarder Marine Logistics

As a Freight Forwarder Marine Logistics, you are responsible for the operational execution of the complete order management, and import and export shipments of shipspares and resupply to sea and air freight cargoes. It is a broad role in which you can develop into an all-round freight forwarder.

What you do Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for following up on orders, booking shipments, printing AWBs, calculating costs, and setting up files, as well as:

• Coordinating the entire process from A to Z: order entry, transport planning, documentation, and follow-up;
• Booking air and sea freight shipments and monitoring progress, delivery times, and quality;
• Calculating costs, preparing quotes, and monitoring margins per file;
• Checking and processing supplier and customer invoices;
• Maintaining contact with customers, suppliers, shipping lines, and airlines;
• Identifying deviations and resolving them proactively;
• Actively contributing ideas for process improvements and customer-oriented solutions.

What do you bring? You have an MBO+ working and thinking level and knowledge of tasks and processes in a similar role within the freight forwarding industry.

Thorough knowledge of import and export processes, customs procedures, incoterms, and transport documentation;

Understanding of the financial picture surrounding forwarding (costs, margins, currencies);

Experience with logistics IT systems (such as transport management, WHM, PO’s, OS&D) and MS Office;

Good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written;

A customer-oriented, result-oriented, and communicatively strong attitude;

Certificates such as MLV, IATA DGR Awareness or GDP Awareness are a plus or a willingness to obtain these.
