QC Inspector
Must-have:QA/Test
- In-Process Quality Inspection (WIP)
- Conduct roaming, random, and scheduled inspections across machining cells.
- Verify critical dimensions, cosmetic conditions, and process checkpoints on WIP parts.
- Ensure machinists follow job routers, process parameters, and inspection instructions.
- Stop production when any dimension or cosmetic requirement falls outside specification.
- Incoming/Returned Parts from Secondary Processes
- Inspect parts returning from external secondary-process vendors (e.g., anodizing, plating, grinding, welding).
- This inspection is independent of the standard incoming inspection performed by the QC Incoming team.
- Perform policing checks through random or sampling inspection to catch defects before parts proceed to the next machining stage.
- Segregate suspect or damaged pieces and report immediately to the QC Supervisor.
- Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR/CAR)
- Raise NCR for internal, supplier, or production-related non-conformities.
- Assist in issuing CAR to relevant departments when required.
- Provide clear evidence (photos, measurement readings, tags, traceability).
- Follow up on NCR status until closure.
- Measurement and Documentation
- Use QC measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauge, thread gauges, pin gauges).
- Record inspection results clearly and accurately in QC forms or digital systems.
- Ensure full traceability of inspected parts.
- Shopfloor Quality Support
- Support machinists with clarifications of tolerances and quality requirements.
- Report abnormal trends such as repeated defects or setup issues to QC Supervisor.
- Assist QA team during FA/FAI verification when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of measurement tools.
- Basic understanding of machining processes (turning, milling, EDM advantageous).
Requirements
- Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret tolerances.
- Experience using standard QC measuring equipment.
- Able to identify defects such as out-of-spec dimensions, burrs, scratches, and surface damages.
- Capable of self-checking and working independently.
