Quality Inspector

We are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join an established manufacturer within the building materials sector.

This is a hands-on, production-based role where you will work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure products meet the required quality standards throughout the production process.

The position will primarily involve visual inspection, identifying defects or inconsistencies and raising any quality concerns with production before products progress further through the manufacturing process.

This would suit someone with a good eye for detail who is comfortable working within a busy manufacturing or production environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Carrying out visual inspections of products at different stages of production
• Checking finished and in-process products against agreed quality standards
• Identifying defects, damage, imperfections or inconsistencies
• Working closely with production operatives and supervisors to address quality issues
• Raising concerns promptly to prevent defective products progressing further through production
• Supporting production teams in maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing process
• Recording inspection findings and completing relevant quality documentation
• Monitoring recurring defects and escalating issues where appropriate
• Ensuring products meet customer and internal quality expectations
• Supporting a culture of quality, accuracy and continuous improvement across the production environment
• Following site health, safety and quality procedures at all times

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience within manufacturing, production, quality inspection or a similar environment
• A strong eye for detail and the ability to identify visual defects
• A practical understanding of manufacturing or production processes
• Good communication skills and the confidence to raise quality concerns
• The ability to work effectively with production operatives, supervisors and other departments
• A methodical and consistent approach to inspections
• Good organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records
• A positive approach to quality and continuous improvement
• Experience within building materials, construction products, timber, concrete, plastics, insulation, roofing, flooring or a similar manufacturing environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
