Jhs Mathematics Teacher
Future Hope Paradise International School , located in Atonsu Bokro, Kumasi, Ghana , is seeking a qualified, dedicated, disciplined, and results-oriented JHS Mathematics Teacher to join our teaching team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics at the Junior High School (JHS) level and preparing students to achieve strong academic results, particularly in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) .
We are looking for a teacher who has a strong command of Mathematics, understands the current Ghana Education Service (GES)/NaCCA curriculum, can effectively manage a classroom, and is passionate about helping students develop confidence and competence in Mathematics.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Mathematics effectively across assigned JHS classes in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, exercises, assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
- Prepare JHS students thoroughly for the BECE Mathematics examination .
- Identify students struggling with Mathematics and provide appropriate remedial support and additional practice.
- Regularly assess students and maintain accurate academic and assessment records.
- Analyze student performance and implement strategies to improve Mathematics results.
- Maintain a disciplined, respectful, engaging, and productive classroom environment.
- Develop students' problem-solving, analytical, logical reasoning, and practical Mathematics skills.
- Mark assignments, exercises, tests, and examinations promptly and provide constructive feedback.
- Participate in staff meetings, academic planning, professional development, and other school activities.
- Collaborate with the Headmaster and other teachers to improve overall academic performance.
- Provide additional revision and academic support when required, particularly for BECE candidates.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Education, Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Basic Education , or another relevant field.
- Appropriate teacher training and/or professional teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of JHS Mathematics and the current Ghanaian curriculum.
- Knowledge of BECE Mathematics requirements and examination preparation .
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Appropriate NTC teacher registration/licensing , where applicable.
Experience
Previous experience teaching Mathematics at the JHS level is strongly preferred . Candidates with demonstrated experience preparing students for the BECE and evidence of improving Mathematics performance will receive strong consideration.
Location Preference
Because this is an on-site, full-time position , preference may be given to qualified candidates who live in or can reliably commute to Atonsu Bokro, Atonsu, Ahinsan, Asokwa, Dompoase, Gyinyase, Aputuogya, or nearby communities in Kumasi .
