Test Engineer

About the position

For one of our customers, we are now seeking a Test Engineer who wants to participate in developing the future of Android-based infotainment systems. You will become part of a competent development team where quality, innovation, and collaboration are in focus.

In this role, you are responsible for ensuring the performance, stability, and reliability of Android-based infotainment and HMI platforms. You will work through the entire development process – from developing test strategies and automating test cases to validating complete systems and contributing during major Android OS upgrades. The role involves close collaboration with developers and system engineers where you will work with both embedded software and physical hardware to ensure a robust and user-friendly product.

Tasks:

Develop and execute test plans for Android-based infotainment and HMI systems. Validate functionality, performance, and system stability throughout the entire hardware and software stack. Develop, maintain, and improve automated test cases in Python. Review requirement specifications and identify deficiencies, ambiguities, and quality risks early in the development process. Participate in the validation of Android OS upgrades, including regression testing and compatibility checks. Develop test benches and simulators to emulate external nodes and machine interfaces. Collaborate closely with developers and system engineers to analyze problems and improve product quality. Maintain clear test documentation and reporting.

We are looking for you who:

Have at least three years of experience in test automation with good knowledge of Python. Have experience testing infotainment systems within the automotive industry or other embedded systems. Have experience with Android/AOSP testing tools, test frameworks, and troubleshooting methods. Have a good understanding of complete systems and can evaluate functionality from a user perspective. Have knowledge of CAN communication and related diagnostic tools. Have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

It is meritorious if you have:

Experience in validation related to Android OS upgrades or platform migrations. Knowledge of communication protocols and hardware interfaces within the automotive industry. Previous experience in similar tasks.

About the employment

This is a consulting assignment, which means that initially, you will be employed by Friday. The ambition from both our customer's and Friday's side is that after some time, you will be offered direct employment with the customer.
