ABOUT THE ROLE:

Friday is seeking, on behalf of a client, a Strategic Buyer within cabling, electrical boxes, components, etc., for a prominent automotive company. Our client supports various parts of the organization with procurement, and this role is part of the direct material procurement operations. In this role, you will be part of an international team of 12 people. In the position, you will further act as a business partner where you will both work with strategic procurement and act as a specialist in the field. You will become an important part of the business management function within procurement, where your role will also involve supporting and challenging buyers within the business in discussions/negotiations regarding raw materials with suppliers.

Main responsibilities include:

• Negotiating terms/agreements for raw materials with suppliers in accordance with procurement guidelines.
• Understanding the economic factors that affect the availability of raw materials and price volatility.
• Using internal and external sources to analyze various reports/data regarding cabling, electrical boxes, etc.
• Supporting the purchasing organization in moving from manual processes to automated workflows using tools available within the organization.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO:

• Have a post-secondary education in procurement, economics, or an equivalent field.
• Have several years of professional experience in procurement within steel and an understanding of the market.
• Are fluent in English, both spoken and written, as the language is used for internal communication.

ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT:

This is a consultancy assignment, which means that you will initially be employed by Friday with the ambition of being over-recruited to the client.
