Are you a recent graduate or at the start of your career? Do you have an engineering degree in, for example, mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or electrical engineering and a great interest in engines and vehicle development? Do you want to combine advanced data analysis with practical development and testing work? Then here you have the opportunity to work with the drivetrains of the future and develop solutions that meet high requirements for performance and emissions.

About the position

As a Calibration Engineer, you will be part of an experienced development team consisting of calibration engineers and function developers. The team is responsible for developing and calibrating in-house developed software models for engine control, focusing on, among other things, emissions control, catalyst heating, and start functions. The solutions are used in internal combustion engines for both mild hybrids and hybrid applications.

In this role, you will work with the calibration of emissions-related functions and receive a clear area of individual responsibility while collaborating closely with experienced colleagues. A large part of the work takes place practically in engine test cells and in vehicles, where you collect, analyze, and evaluate large amounts of data. You will be involved early in the development of new drivetrain concepts and follow the work from calibration and analysis to validation and final verification. Testing can also be conducted in different climates and at different altitudes, which means that travel and test expeditions may occur.

Tasks:

  • Calibrate and verify emissions-related functions for engine control.
  • Plan and develop methods for the calibration process.
  • Define, manage, and follow up on requirements within the system and towards adjacent areas.
  • Perform tests and verification in engine test cells and vehicles under varying conditions.
  • Collect, process, and analyze large amounts of measurement data using advanced analysis and modeling tools.
  • Evaluate test results, perform problem analyses, and document and report the work in a structured manner.

We are looking for you who:

  • Has a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent relevant engineering education.
  • Has good knowledge of Matlab, Python and/or Simulink.
  • Has a great technical interest in vehicles, internal combustion engines, and drivetrains.
  • Has good knowledge of English in speech and writing as the language is used within the technical documentation and the organization.
  • Speaks and writes English fluently, as daily work and communication with colleagues and other contact points require it.
  • Has a B-driver's license.

It is not necessary, but meritorious if you have:

  • Speaks and writes Swedish fluently.
  • Good knowledge of internal combustion engines and engine control.
  • Has taken or has taken courses in internal combustion engines, programming, and/or electronics.
  • Experience with ETAS INCA.
  • Previous experience in calibration, verification, or testing within the automotive industry.

Additionally, we place great emphasis on personal suitability. To thrive in the role, we believe you are curious, analytical, and have a genuine interest in understanding how technical systems work. You appreciate delving into large amounts of data while also enjoying practical and hands-on testing work. As a person, you are self-driven and proactive, but at the same time appreciate collaborating and sharing knowledge with others. You have the ability to see the big picture, approach problems in a pragmatic way, and work in a structured and meticulous manner from planning and execution to analysis and reporting.
