Android Developer

About the position

For one of our customers, we are now looking for an Android Developer who wants to be part of developing the future Android-based infotainment systems. Here, you will become part of a competent development team that works closely with both hardware and software to create robust and high-performance platform solutions.

In this role, you will work with Android's system services, frameworks, and platform components that form the foundation of modern infotainment systems. You will be involved in the entire development process – from design and implementation to testing, code review, and further development. The role involves close collaboration with both customer projects and cross-functional development teams where you contribute to developing the future Android platforms for the automotive industry.

Tasks

• Develop and maintain Android platform components for infotainment systems.
• Implement and integrate new features in Android Framework with C++.
• Drive the development of assigned work packages within the Android platform.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high quality.
• Work with CI/CD flows in Jenkins and contribute to clear technical documentation.
• Collaborate closely with developers, customer projects, and other technical teams.
• Participate in Android OS upgrades and ensure compatibility between platform, hardware, and applications.

We are looking for you who

• Have several years of experience in Android and AOSP platform development.
• Have very good knowledge of C++ as well as experience in debugging and HAL-development (Hardware Abstraction Layer).
• Have experience with Python for scripting and automation.
• Have worked with Jenkins and CI/CD processes.
• Have experience with infotainment systems in the automotive industry or other embedded systems.
• Have experience with Android upgrades, API changes, platform migrations, and validation.
• Have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

It is a merit if you have

• Experience with Audio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, System UI, Power Management, or AOSP build systems.
• Experience with Qualcomm SoC and Linux kernel development.
• Knowledge of Java and Kotlin.
• Previous experience in similar tasks.

About the employment

This is a consulting assignment, which means that initially, you will be employed by Friday. The ambition from both our customer's and Friday's side is that after a period, you will be offered direct employment with the customer.
