Scientist Neuromorphic Computing (Research Associate)
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (www.fraunhofer.de) is one of the world's leading organizations for applied research. 74 institutes develop pioneering technologies for our economy and society - more precisely: 30,000 people from technology, science, administration, and IT. You know: those who come to Fraunhofer want and can make a change. For themselves, for us, and for the markets of today and tomorrow.
Future. Together. Develop. At the center of the research work of the Fraunhofer-Institut für Nachrichtentechnik - HHI are excellent research and innovations. In doing so, we are world leaders in the research of mobile and optical communication networks and systems as well as Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and the compression of digital video. Become part of our team and join us on a journey of research and innovation!
Here you will drive change
- Design, simulation, and experimental validation of Photonic Neural Networks (PNN) on photonic integrated circuits (PIC), for example "MZI mesh networks", "reservoir computing", and "recurrent architectures"
- Development and further development of numerical simulation models for optical transmission systems and PNNs based on Python/Photontorch/SAX and VPIphotonics
- Creation of PIC specifications, PIC layouts, PIC characterization, and coordination with PIC foundries and packaging partners
- Scientific management, coordination, and processing of projects in the subject area
- Support in the acquisition of industrial projects and publicly funded projects
- Collaboration in the development of the subject area with a focus on the exploitation of research results with industrial partners
