Your tasks

About the Role The company is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams. This is a senior individual contributor role combining architecture, system design, hands-on coding, and cross-team project ownership.

The successful candidate will shape technical direction, lead complex projects from concept to production, and help scale the company's AI platform and infrastructure.

• Lead architecture and system design across multiple engineering teams.
• Own complex technical projects from planning through production delivery.
• Build and maintain backend-focused, full-stack applications using Python, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Strengthen platform infrastructure, data integrations, and AI agent systems.
• Establish engineering standards and improve software quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineering managers on technical strategy and priorities.
• Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across the organization.
• Ensure systems meet healthcare security and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements

Experience: 7+ years

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• Current or previous Staff, Principal, or Lead Engineer title; hands-on Engineering Managers moving back into individual contributor roles may also be considered.
• Strong backend-focused full-stack engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex systems across multiple teams.
• Ability to balance architecture and system design with hands-on coding.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Ability to work in the San Francisco office four days per week.
