About the Company

An early-stage AI company building an AI-powered workforce for dental practices. Its platform automates patient communication, appointment booking, and front-desk workflows across calls, texts, and other channels.

The company has demonstrated early commercial traction, generating approximately $400K in new annual recurring revenue in one month, primarily through referrals and without dedicated marketing or outbound spend.

About the Role

This is the company's first non-engineering hire, working directly with the founders to build and scale its growth function.

Initially, you will take ownership of inbound sales and customer relationships, learning the existing sales process. You will then develop repeatable outbound channels, partnerships, and growth systems to help the company scale.

This is a broad, high-ownership role combining sales, business development, operations, and lightweight technical execution. It is suited to someone who wants to help build a company rather than work within a narrowly defined sales position.

Responsibilities

  • Inbound Sales: Handle inbound leads, conduct sales calls, and close new customers.
  • Growth Strategy: Build repeatable acquisition channels and develop outbound strategies.
  • Partnerships: Establish relationships with potential partners and develop referral channels.
  • Customer Relationships: Support onboarding, customer check-ins, and ongoing engagement.
  • Business Development: Attend conferences, travel, and build relationships with customers and partners.
  • Automation: Build lightweight internal tools, automate workflows, and remove operational bottlenecks using AI-assisted coding tools.
  • Company Building: Work directly with the founders across growth and operational priorities as the business scales.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to close sales opportunities or exceptional experience in investment banking, consulting, or operations.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and persuasion skills.
  • Extremely high agency, resourcefulness, and ability to operate without a predefined playbook.
  • A company-building mindset, with willingness to take ownership beyond traditional sales responsibilities.
  • Technical resourcefulness and ability to build simple internal tools or automate workflows.
  • Comfortable working directly with founders in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to work in person in San Francisco.

Interview Process

  • Founder screen — 15 minutes: Introductory conversation about background, motivation, availability, and role fit.
  • Founder screen — 30 minutes: Discussion of communication skills, company-building motivation, and working style.
  • Team screen — 30 minutes: Assessment of collaboration, resourcefulness, and ability to operate in an ambiguous environment.
  • I n-person work trial — 2 days: Practical assessment of sales execution, problem-solving, technical resourcefulness, and growth-building ability.
  • Reference checks — Professional references discussing previous performance, ownership, reliability, and collaboration.
  • Offer and hiring.
