Job Description

We are recruiting an HPC System Administration Engineer to join our Numerical Simulation agency. This agency brings together our expertise in the fields of scientific computing, modeling, TMA of scientific applications, and the study of complex physical phenomena.

As part of the growth of CS activity in the energy field, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the operation of the world's largest private computing cluster. You will work in an HPC context on behalf of a major industrial player in the Pau region.

The task consists of:

• Installing, upgrading, and configuring the middleware software of the HPC infrastructure,
• Evolving system and infrastructure architectures to integrate new hardware,
• Ensuring MCO and MCS of computing clusters,
• Ensuring the monitoring of simulation production running on the clusters.

This position is based in Paris, with the possibility of also being filled at our Pau site.

Qualifications

Holding an engineering degree or university equivalent (Master's degree) in computer science, oriented towards Systems and Networks, you have a minimum of 4 years of experience in Linux administration, as well as experience on an HPC cluster.

You are able to work in a Linux RedHat environment, with mastery of scripting in Python, Perl and/or Bash. You must demonstrate solid skills in network administration, particularly on technologies such as Ethernet, InfiniBand, and Lustre. In-depth knowledge of configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible is essential, as is experience in monitoring via Centreon, Grafana, or Prometheus. Knowledge in high-performance computing (HPC) is required, including scheduling management with Slurm, PBS, or LSF, as well as parallel storage via Lustre or GPFS. Finally, an appetite for hardware is indispensable to fully succeed in this position.

You have a good level of English (reading, writing, speaking).
