For more information, visit our site www.3ds.com/frAu within the SIMULIA R&D Motion department, you will join a team that develops applications for designing, simulating, and validating complex mechanical systems.As part of a partnership with a research laboratory, the team is working on a tool capable of automatically generating different variants of a mechanism while maintaining its functionality. The objective is to help engineers quickly explore several design solutions that meet technical and assembly constraints.This project also aims to leverage artificial intelligence to improve the search for solutions and facilitate the resolution of problems related to mechanical design.

Your tasks

The objective of the internship will be to enrich an existing tool for generating mechanism variants and to explore the contribution of artificial intelligence to improve its capabilities.

Your task will consist of:

• Conducting a state-of-the-art review of existing approaches, particularly those relying on artificial intelligence to solve similar issues;
• Participating in the design and development of new features for the mechanism variant generator;
• Implementing automatic model generation in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform;
• Testing and validating the developments made on representative use cases and data from real projects;
• Collaborating with a research team to improve the developed algorithms and tools;
• Developing the interfaces and tools allowing the use of these features through the LEO virtual companion and AI-based skills;
• Enriching and maintaining an automated test base;
• Analyzing the performance of the developed solutions and proposing optimizations when necessary;
• Participating in the integration and delivery of developments into the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Your qualifications

Student in Bac+4/5 (Master's level), with a specialization in computer science, software development, or artificial intelligence, looking for a 6-month internship.

Ideally, you possess the following skills:

• Good mastery of C++ development acquired through an academic, personal, or professional project;
• Interest in new AI-assisted development approaches and initial use of tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or equivalents;
• Knowledge of concepts related to generative AI (prompts, agents, AI skills, MCP, etc.);
• Knowledge of Python is appreciated;
• Interest in mechanics, simulation, or engineering sciences;
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems;
• Autonomy, rigor, and team spirit;
• Good level of English, both written and spoken.
