Operations Buyer

For an international company within the automotive sector, we are looking for an Operations Buyer. In this position, you will support operational activities regarding purchasing and act as the point of contact for external suppliers.

You will work closely with various internal departments and also support the further rollout of purchasing strategies and optimizations.

Your responsibilities:

• Following up and managing indirect purchases within the production site;
• Implementing regional purchasing contracts and negotiating with suppliers;
• Following up on commercial activities regarding engineering changes that have an impact on production parts;
• Supporting Category Management with purchasing strategies and cost optimizations;
• Following up with suppliers regarding quality, cost, and delivery;
• Participating in the evaluation and scorecards of suppliers;
• Acting as the first point of contact and escalation point for problems with external suppliers;
• Following up on prices in the ERP system and ensuring correct price updates throughout the product life cycle;
• Collaborating with, among others, Maintenance, Material Planning, Quality, Finance, Sales, and Commodity Management;
• Approximately 20% travel time depending on suppliers and the job.
• You possess a technical or economic degree and have a strong technical interest, or are equivalent through experience;
• You preferably have 1 to 3 years of experience in international purchasing, ideally within the automotive sector;
• Experience with technical products is a strong asset;
• You are strong in negotiation and communication;
• You are result-oriented, solution-oriented, and can handle deadlines and pressure well;
• You have good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence tools;
• You have a basic knowledge of commercial contracts;
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6.3 is a plus;
• You have insight into production processes and are able to interpret and analyze technical information;
• You speak fluent English; knowledge of other languages is a plus;
• You are customer-oriented, accurate, and organizationally strong.
