Forsvarets sikkerhetsavdeling (FSA) holds the overall responsibility for the exercise of the security service in Forsvaret by ensuring that the organization is managed, performed, and audited in accordance with the security law. At Forsvarets sikkerhetsavdeling (FSA), we have a vacancy for a temporary position as an advisor. We are looking for you who will contribute to helping Forsvaret reduce security risk. As an advisor with us, you will hold an important role in the work with analyses and assessments of the security situation surrounding Forsvaret. In addition, you will participate in developing the professional field for analysis within operative security service. Forsvarets sikkerhetsavdeling provides advice to the defense leadership regarding security service and sets requirements for security service in the defense sector. Our main task is to protect Forsvaret's operative capability by preventing, detecting, and countering threats and vulnerabilities. This is done by ensuring that the organization is managed, performed, and audited in accordance with the security law and the needs of Forsvaret. FSA is located at Akershus festning and is organized into three departments. The position as an advisor is under the Department for Activity, which delivers decision support to the strategic and operational levels in Forsvaret. The position is a temporary vacancy due to parental leave from the start date until August 31, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

What will you work with? About the role: The tasks are varied and challenging, but overall, the assessment of conditions that may be of significance to Forsvaret's operative capability will be the recurring theme in daily service. Employees in FSA have a great influence on their own working methodology and have a great responsibility for being able to quickly distribute relevant, timely, and reliable security intelligence to decision-makers at the strategic and operational levels in Forsvaret. Manage and communicate the security situation in a dedicated area of responsibility Produce derived security intelligence, analyses, and thematic products from tactical to strategic level Contribute to the production of the military security picture Personnel employed must be prepared to fulfill missions both nationally and internationally on short notice. The position is subject to the duty of disposal, cf. forsvarsloven and forsvarstilsatteforskriften. This entails requirements for medical and physical fitness, as well as a class B driver's license. The head of FSA can, in special cases, grant exemptions from additional and special requirements. Which qualifications do you need for the position? The following qualification requirements must be met: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, for example within security studies, social science subjects. Other education and long relevant experience may, upon assessment, compensate for a lack of formal education You must be very proficient in Norwegian and English, both orally and in writing The person hired must be able to be security cleared for STRENGT HEMMELIG/ COSMIC TOP SECRET before commencement (for more information about security clearance, see www.nsm.no) One or more of the following qualification requirements should be met: experience from civilian or military security and/or intelligence analysis military experience experience with the use and/or development of analysis tools Personnel employed must be prepared to fulfill missions both nationally and internationally on short notice. This entails requirements for medical and physical fitness, which will be assessed by us before any commencement. There is also a requirement for a class B driver's license in this context.
