With us, you have the chance to accompany the newly founded Institute for a sustainable Hydrogen Economy (IHE) with your ideas from the very beginning. Together with the H2-Demonstration Region, the IHE forms the "Helmholtz-Cluster for sustainable and infrastructure-compatible hydrogen economy" (HC-H2). Here, scientific foundations in the field of innovative hydrogen technologies are laid in order to advance research and development approaches with high sustainability potential and attractive economic prospects. You will belong to the IHE-4 institute division. IHE-4 deals with process synthesis and validation of entire systems and processes for the production and use of chemical hydrogen storage media. If you are interested in the topics of energy transition, sustainability, and chemical hydrogen storage, then you are in your element here. Your tasks in the team
- Development, conception, and programming of controls and control systems for process engineering plants with prototype character for chemical hydrogen storage and release on a laboratory to pilot scale, including troubleshooting and continuous optimization or adaptation to changing framework conditions
- Conception and implementation of concepts for remote access and for continuous control systems (e.g., intelligent sensors) as well as for experimental data streams
- Support in the development of soft sensors
- Experimental validation of the developed controls, control systems, and sensor/actuator technology as well as evaluation of the results
- Creation of documentation regarding the described activities
- Close cooperation with scientists, technical staff, and external cooperation partners
What you bring with you
- Completed technical university degree (FH) in the field of automation technology or electrical engineering or in a related field
- Theoretical and practical experience in the field of automation technology and/or process control technology or in a related subject area is desirable
- Programming knowledge in the field of programmable logic controllers and/or process control systems (preferably Siemens or Beckhoff)
- Experience in the implementation of safety-related control functions and fail-safe devices is an advantage
- Programming knowledge in an object-oriented high-level language such as Python is an advantage but not a requirement
- Experience in handling process engineering plants or special plant construction is an advantage
- Ability for practical implementation and troubleshooting
- Good written and spoken English skills
- Independent and at the same time team-oriented way of working, complemented by good communication skills

- Fair Remuneration: Depending on your existing qualifications and the assignment of tasks, classification occurs in the range of pay groups 10-12 TVöD-Bund.
