Te Tūranga – About the role
As an Engineering/Maintenance Assistant, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving warehouse facilities and equipment across our Foodstuffs North Island's distribution network.
You’ll also:
- Complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs on warehouse equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Maintain buildings and site assets, including signage, barriers, racking, lockers, and warehouse fit-outs
- Coordinate contractors and support the delivery of engineering and maintenance projects across distribution centres.
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety, compliance, and documentation requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.

He kōrero mōu - About you
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3+ years’ maintenance experience in facilities, factory, plant, or distribution warehouse environments (preferable)
- Strong technical skills, including maintaining warehouse equipment, MHE, batteries and chargers, and safely operating hand and power tools (Welding and Lathe skills will be an advantage)
- Basic computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office and MEX
- Vehicle licences: Car, Forklift, and Elevated Work Platforms
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, plan workloads, and consistently deliver on deadlines.
- A flexible, solutions-focused approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced 24/7 operational environment.
- Flexibility in working hours from time to time due to the 24-hour nature of our Foodstuffs operation
