About the company

The Fondation pour les études et recherches sur le développement international (Ferdi), recognized as being in the public interest, aims to promote research and reflection on sustainable international development and the policies that contribute to it. Since its creation in 2003, Ferdi has become a think-tank highly present in international debates on development. Ferdi, starting from a permanent team of approximately 35 people based in Clermont-Ferrand, can mobilize a network of about a hundred high-level researchers, internationally renowned in the field of economics and development. Through the events it organizes and participates in, its publications, and its partnership relations, Ferdi contributes to the evolution of ideas on important and varied subjects, such as geographic allocation criteria for aid, how to address the vulnerability of economies and the fragility of States, the effectiveness of international policies implemented in favor of Least Developed Countries (LDC), or even issues related to taxation for development. Ferdi's activities are motivated and guided by three ambitions: promoting research excellence, bringing reflection and decision-making closer together, and strengthening capacities, particularly in the South.
