Network Technician for Försvarsmakten's cyber defense in Stockholm

Försvarsmakten's cyber defense is now seeking an experienced Network Technician. We are looking for you who is curious about, or already passionate about, networks and IT security and wants to develop.
About the position
In the position, you will be able to work with the development, management, and configuration of all commonly occurring network components – as well as some not so common ones. As a natural part of the work, monitoring the outside world is included, and it is important that you stay updated on the latest technologies within network infrastructure. There are good opportunities for personal development.
Your main tasks:
Responsibility for networks in a security-classified IT environment Work broadly with network components such as switches, routers, and firewalls across both WAN and LAN and in datacenters Participate in developing and managing our IT environment Create new designs for solutions as well as implement them Ongoing work with operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Qualifications
At least five years of experience in network operations primarily with Cisco-based products Advanced knowledge and experience of switches, routers, and firewalls Experience of both physical and virtual network infrastructure Experience of installation and configuration of networks and network components Good knowledge regarding Linux and Windows Academic education or knowledge acquired through relevant professional experience Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
Meritorious
Design of network infrastructure, physical and in virtualization environments Experience of automation Infrastructure as code Configuration of encrypted connections Monitoring of network traffic Intrusion detection Programming and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) Experience of and knowledge about Försvarsmakten's signals intelligence systems and IT systems

The form of employment is a permanent position which begins with a six-month probationary period if you are not already employed within Försvarsmakten.

In Högkvarteret are the Supreme Commander and the Director General. Högkvarteret has approximately 1,000 employees – both professional officers and civilian experts. As of 2023-01-01, Högkvarteret consists of the defense staff, the operations command, military intelligence and security services, as well as the Högkvarteret staff department and independent units for supervision.
Employment with us involves placement in a security clearance. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security clearance with a background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Employment includes an obligation for wartime placement.
